Alternate Fix for DW20.exe Using Microsoft Office

 In a previous Hub I explained a quick fix for this error. After some time off, I have returned to find some of you are still having some problems correcting this error. I will walk you thru a second process that will assist you in ridding your life of this horrible little box.

Step 1

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then click on the 'Task Manager" option (Windows Vista)

 

Step 2

Once the 'Task Manager" window appears click on the 'Processes'. Now scroll down the list until you see the culprit dw20.exe.

Step 3

Click once on dw20.exe and click on the button displaying 'end process. You will then be ask to confirm you actions. Click on 'Yes'

Step 4

Click on 'Start' on the bottom of your screen. Now go up the menu and right-click 'My Computer'. Scroll down and click 'Manage'.

Step 5

Now select 'Services and Applications' on the left hand side of the window then select 'Services'.

Step 6

You should see a window or panel on the right hand side. Scroll thru and find 'Microsoft Application Error Reporting'. Double-click on this. On the 'Start-Up Type' window select 'Disabled'. When prompted for confirmation, once again, select 'OK'. You can now close this window. The process is now complete, feel free to restart your computer for good measure.
